A new teaser of “Colin In Black and White”
The much-awaited first look of “Colin in Black and White” debuted last night during the 73rd Annual Emmys Awards. The teaser for the series, shared by Netflix for the Colin Kapernick series. A 30-second clip of the series was in Emmy’s spot. Netflix announced the series in June 2020. The series is set to premiere on October 29th.
Earlier the first teaser “The Path is Power” was released by Netflix. The story promises to take audiences on a powerful journey. Colin himself will be in the series, narrating the series. The story is based on true events. Jaden Michael will be playing the role of high school Colin.
What will the series be about?
Before reaching the highest levels of American football as an NFL quarterback and activist, he tackled the obstacles of race, culture, and class. The new teaser also shows the looks of Nick Offerman and Mary-Louise Parker as Colin’s adoptive parents, Rick and Teresa Kaepernick. The Series also features Amarr Wooten, Mace Coronel, and Klarke Pipkin.
The drama is a collaboration of acclaimed director Ava DuVernay and Athlete turned Activist Colin Kapernick. The coming of age drama consists of 6 episodes where the former activist shares his journey up till now and obstacles he had to face. Kapernick shares the tale of his high school, how he faced adversities and challenges. The 30-second clip shows his climb from a high school footballer to a medium of equality and against racial injustices.
In addition to DuVernay, the series will also have Sheldon Candis, Robert Townsend, Kristi Williams, and Kenny Leon as directors. Ava Duvernay will serve as an executive producer along with Michael Starrbury and Colin Kapernick.
