The song’s part of Coldplay’s upcoming Music of the Spheres LP
Coldplay and BTS have released their Collab song “My Universe.” The song will later arrive on the former’s Music of the Spheres LP, releasing on October 15th.
The song is an upbeat and uplifting one, something both BTS and Coldplay have in common in every song. It’s message is to prioritize love over differences and contains both English and Korean lyrics.
Their other performances
My Universe is co-written by Max Martin, aside from BTS and will be the second track in Music of the Spheres. The first was “Higher Power,” which released in June.
Coldplay is scheduled to perform at the New York City interaction of this year’s Global Citizen Live festival on September 25th. BTS is also going to perform there. Other singers who will join Coldplay includes Billie Eilish, Camila Cabelloz Jennifer Lopez, Lizzo, Meek Mill, and Shawn Mendes. There will be special guest performances by Alessia Cara, Burna Boy, Cyndi Lauper, Jon Batiste, and Lang Lang.
BTS’s time with Coldplay
This collaboration was teased for a long time. It was officially confirmed after the released jamming sessions and when Chris Martin spoke about the Permission to Dance Challenge. In the 15-minute video, we see Coldplay and BTS being each other’s fans and appreciating their styles. BTS’s upcoming song “Permission to Dance” is co-written by Ed Sheeran.
BTS also did a cover of Coldplay’s song “Fix You” during their performance at MTV Unplugged. When the performance went viral, fans of both bands started demanding a collaboration.
BTS was also present at the UN recently, as special envoys for President Moon Jae-In. They spoke about critical matters like vaccination and climate change.
