Well, looks like Americans are drinking more than ever especially the binge drinkers. Let’s try to take a good look at it.
A recent study by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) showed that binge drinkers are drinking more than ever. The data from 2011 to 2017 revealed that there are a lot of American teenagers who are under chronic behavior illness and the number is said to be about 400,000.
They surveyed that heavy drinkers averaged about 529 drinks per year in 2017 which was about 12% more than the year 2011 in which it was about 479 drinks per year. Binge drinking is basically 7 drinks in quick succession, which is statistically is about 17.5 billion drinks per year way beyond the limit.
The survey also revealed that the population of binge drinkers consisted of people with low incomes and with lower education levels and about 18% of US adults do binge drinking once a week.
The most interesting fact was revealed that from 2011 to 2019, there were fewer people who were drinking excessively but those who did were the ones who did it in a very excessive manner, the results were limited up to the number of sales of alcohol.
Yet, Pubic health officials stated that “We are not going to underestimate those number and strict action will be taken as these kind of practices leads to a lot of accidents, assaults, deaths and many more.
