Dying Light 2 developer asks players to “Keep your heads up for 2021” through a tweet

This tease very much tells us that the game will be coming out this year

Players must have already seen the tweet by official Dying Light Twitter account that heavily states suggests that the sequel to the zombie apocalypse game will be coming out in 2021.

The tweet, which came out on New Year’s Eve by developer Techland read, “Survivors, tonight we celebrate!” and in the next line said, “keep your heads up for 2021.” Hmmmmm?

The game’s status

We should still take this with a pinch of salt as games have been getting delayed a lot lately. But the tweet still suggests that even if we don’t get the actual game this year, we might be getting more information or even a small demo. Also, the game, which was first unveiled in E3 2018 had faced multiple delays. It was originally planned for a 2019 release, then the Spring 2020 release was also dropped by Techland and the next release date wasn’t given. The sequel promises 100 hours of gameplay, with a 15-20 hour campaign.

At that time, CEO Pawel Marchewka apologized for the delay and said that they will need more time for development inorder to fulfill their vision. He closed off by saying that their priority was to live up to their own standards and to the expectations of their fans.

Dying Light 2 can be easily dismissed as just another post-apocalyptic zombie game, but the truth is that Techland has built a more intricate universe, one that cannot be simply cast aside. If they do it right, it can be one of the most compelling RPGs to come out to date.

From what we’ve seen, the sequel is bigger, bolder and has a map that’s already 4 times the size of the first game’s map.
