The highly-anticipated game is being made with Unreal Engine 5
The first 15-minute gameplay trailer for Game Science Studio’s Black Myth: Wukong came out a year ago. The game immediately became one of the most anticipated video games after the stunning visuals and gameplay. It’s just too hard to find any faults from what we have seen.
The game released a second trailer on the Year of the Ox, and fans got to gaze at the stunning fights and visuals once again. It started off with Unreal Engine 4 in the early stages. But with the arrival of Unreal Engine 5, the developers shifted the production.
The question that remains is: When will the game come out?
Maybe in two years…?
After the recent trailer release, the game is expected to come out sometime in 2023. Some games journalists are also zeroing in on 2023, after hearing from a spokesperson at Game Science. The average developing period for a game is 3-4 years, so it’s a given that the game will take it’s due time.
The spokesperson shared how serious they were in making the game. After the disastrous outing of Cyberpunk, Game Science has done everything to avoid that, now that the trailers have hyped up the gamers.
They added that the game will release on PC and “mainstream consoles,” so we can expect it to arrive on the PS5 and Xbox Series X.
Game Science is a studio founded by former Tencent Games employees, and this is their first project.
We know very little of what the story is going to be. As for the character, Sun Wukong is a mythical Chinese figure and appeared in the popular book ‘Journey to the West.’ Wukong is a warrior known for his fighting skills and agility. He is well known as a trickster who can shapeshift into many forms.
From what we have seen, it has something to do with a part of the real Monkey King’s soul going in search of the true meaning of life. Sun Wukong had been known to oppose the teachings of the Buddha before becoming his student.
