After a hit season one, BBC soon made fans happy when they announced that Tom Hardy starrer series Taboo will be back for a second season as well. This announcement was made back in 2017, however, fans seem to be waiting for quite a long time now!
Moreover, the second season was delayed for a long time now and the reason is that the cast and crew members had to work on their other commitments. Series creator Steven Knight is the brains behind hit political drama series Peaky Blinders and also Serenity. Whereas lead star Tom Hardy is busy himself with the sequel Venom movie.
However, we did receive a new update on the series when Knight announced that the writing of the second series lot is almost done and filing might begin from 2020 onwards. Tom Hardy is the only character that has confirmed his return and even Steven Knight has elaborate plans about the character’s future. The series creator has teased the possibility that the show will be heading towards the West this time, with the plot becoming more opium affected! Even lead actor Tom Hardy has hinted that the second season might revolve around the US spy network Colonnade!
However, with Tom Hardy busy with his movie, fans might have to wait for a little longer for season 2. With a show’s creative enormity the filming might take some time and the second season might finally air by the end of this year or the beginning of 2021!
