Recently, a federal lawsuit has been filed against Gigi Hadid for posting a picture of her ex-boyfriend Zayn Malik on her Instagram account a long time back. Gigi Hadid was hit by a federal lawsuit filed by a photographer.
According to the documents that were submitted to the court by the photographer Robert O’Neil, it stated that Gigi Hadid has taken a picture of his and has posted it on Instagram as her own.
Robert O’Neil has accused Gigi Hadid of copyright infringement over a photograph that he snapped of Zayn Malik.
Robert O’Neil claims that Gigi Hadid did not acquire the license for the photograph from the Plaintiff, which she has used for her Instagram story. The continued that Gigi Hadid did not have the permission or the consent of the Plaintiff to publish the photograph on her Instagram Story back when they were dating.
Further, Robert O’Neil has stated that Gigi Hadid has infringed right through the copyrights of Plaintiff in the photograph by publicly displaying and reproducing the photograph on her Instagram Story back then. He further stated that Gigi Hadid has never been authorized to publicly display, reproduce, distribute or use the photograph of Zayn Malik.
Robert O’Neil is demanding quite unspecified damages for the alleged infringement of using his photographs. O’Neil also seems to be seeking for Gigi Hadid to turn over her accounting.
Robert O’Neil was demanding Gigi Hadid an excess of $150,000 and said that Gigi Hadid was required to provide an account for all the profits, receipts, income, and other benefits that were derived by the Defendant as the result of its unlawful conduct.
In the Instagram Story of Gigi Hadid which she featured a picture of Zayn Malik having a stroll in the street and has captioned the picture with “Muze” and “My Manz.”
