As we know that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will get back their titles after they leave the Royal Family. But in a recent interview they said that they do not want to use them. Scroll down and get the detailed information below.
A video was shared on Instagram last week. It showed Markle asking Edward Enninful, the British Vogue editor to call her Meghan and not ‘Duchess’. Moreover, on Wednesday Harry was also seen at a UK engagement. He asked one of the audience to call him Harry when they were calling him Price Harry.
So this left everyone with a doubt that, are the fans supposed to call them just Harry and Meghan or they will use their last names?
It was in 2018 that Markle and Prince Harry got married. She discontinued using her maiden name after that. But unlike what usually happens, the duchess did not take her husband’s name. The reason behind this was that he didn’t want have a name.
As per the birth certificate of baby Archie, the full name of Prince Harry is his Royal Highness Henry Charles Albert David Duke of Sussex. On the other hand, Markle was previously known as Rachel Meghan Markle but after their marriage it became Rachel Meghan Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Sussex.
On Archie’s birth the couple made an announcement about their titles. Harry said that they won’t be using the HRH prefix in their names. They wish to be called as Master Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.
The Royal Family’s official website mentions that the Royal Family members who have the HRH title do not need to have a last name. But if they still want to use it they can use the title, Mountbatten-Windsor. This title has been derived by combining Prince Philip and Queen Elizabeth’s last names.
