Here are some early reactions that don’t give away any spoilers
The first reactions to Venom: Let There Be Carnage is out, and those who have watched are loving it. Sony launched their own Spider-Man franchise with the Tom Hardy-starrer Venom in 2018. It’s performed way better than expected, collecting over $856 million worldwide. The success gave Sony confidence to proceed with the franchise, which focuses more on Spider-Man villains.
Enter Carnage
Carnage, the more sinister and evil version of Venom makes its first live-action debut with this film. Ever since the movie was announced, fans were excited to see the two symbiote going to war with each other. Carnage was first announced at the end of the first film, with Woody Harrelson playing Cletus Kasady, Carnage’s host. Cletus is diagnosed with Antisocial Personality Disorder, and has an obsession with chaos. This makes him the perfect host for the equally chaotic symbiote.
The sequel brings back Michelle Williams as Anne Weying, aka, She-Venom and introduces Naomie Harris as Shriek. There are also rumours of the movie tying in with the MCU, especially after pictures of Tom Hardy wearing a ‘No Way Home’ cap surfaced.
Fan reactions
Most of the reviews are talking about Tom Hardy’s performance. His struggle and banter with Venom was one of the best parts of the first movie. From the looks of it, it seems he has outdone himself from the first film. Some reviews also praise Woody Harrelson’s Carnage portrayal, saying he was sadistic in every scene he appeared in.
VENOM: LET THERE BE CARNAGE embraces the absurd buddy romance from the first film even more. Andy Serkis keeps the action & humor moving quickly even if it doesn’t always land. Tom Hardy is fantastic in #Venom2 – a film that gladly & madly leans into its darkly hilarious tone & then some. Definite NATURAL BORN KILLERS vibes from our villains, but it’s ultimately Hardy who steals every scene w/ a one-of-a-kind performance that’s SO much fun to watch pic.twitter.com/97vO6rHing

When it comes to Venom: Let There Be Carnage, it’s simple.
Did you like the first one? You’ll like this one.
Not like the first one? That’s how you’ll feel here.
It’s the bigger faster version of the first movie which I enjoyed and instantly forgot about.
Fun. Frivolous. pic.twitter.com/KseRn6s4E2

The first film was a hit with the audience and a miss with critics. Looks like the second film will also follow suit, as some said that those who didn’t like the first film won’t like this either. Either way, the movie will be exactly what you think it’s going to be. Also, don’t miss the post-credit scene.
