Transformers 8 & 9 Announced by Paramount, Development Begins after ‘Rise of the Beasts’

Get ready for the next trilogy

Here’s some major Transformers buzz! Paramount confirmed their latest plans of making a new Transformers trilogy. They will follow after Transformers: Rise of the Beasts. The first movies on the Robots in Disguise began in 2007 with Michael Bay as director, and Shia LaBeouf in the lead. The movie was a big hit and got 4 sequels.

In 2018, the franchise underwent a soft reboot with Bumblebee. But now, the main series is making its grand entry. Read on.

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is now considered a relaunch of the franchise. Despite the billions that the Michael Bay movies racked in, the stories received more and more hate. This could be a reason why the reboot was planned. Rise of the Beasts is said to take place between the events of Bumblebee and the Michael Bay films.

The new movie stars Anthony Ramos and Dominique Fishback in the lead roles, and will consist of more than regular transformers. It will introduce the Maximals, the Predacons, and the Terrorcons. These transforming beings had appeared in the classic tv shows as well as comics, but we never saw a live action on them. Bay still took it up a notch by introducing the Dinobots in Age of Extinction. The Maximals transform into wild animals, and their leader is similar to Optimus Prime, named Optimus Primal.

Rise of the Beasts had wrapped up filming in 2021, but the release date was pushed to 2023. However, Paramount still wants to go ahead with the plan of making a trilogy. The new director, Steven Caple Jr., or the new stars haven’t yet confirmed their return. Despite the exciting news, it still depends on how the next movie performs.
