Marvel Studios has finally unveiled the teaser for Thor: Love and Thunder. Thor, one of the first Avengers, continues on to Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with bigger adventures in store. Let’s read in detail about the trailer and returning characters.
Thor: Love & Thunder Trailer Details
The movie sees the actors reuniting with Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi. From the trailer, it is understandable that the events pick off right after Avengers: Endgame. Thor (Chris Hemsworth) is travelling around with the Guardians of the Galaxy, having cosmic battles. We see him using an ancient gym to lose all that belly fat he gained during the blip. Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) and Korg (Waititi) are also back.
But the star this time is Natalie Portman as Jane Foster. But she is not just the brilliant scientist, but the next Thor. Waititi has offered small bits of information about the movie since its reveal in 2019. He said that the movie is more emotional than Ragnarok, and is more about love. It draws inspiration from Jason Aaron’s Mighty Thor comics. The iconic story follows Jane Foster being diagnosed with cancer, but picking up Mjolnir and gaining Thor’s powers.
Missing Character
Yes, an important character is still kept under wraps – Gorr the God Butcher. Christian Bale is now part of the MCU to play one of the most ruthless and blood-thirsty villains ever created. The story shows that Thor is now thinking of retirement, and is going through a period of introspection. He abandons Stormbreaker, his new axe. But Gorr’s arrival forces him to come out retirement. The trailer also showed Zeus with his lightning bolt. It is expected that Zeus will be killed by Gorr.
We can hope for the character to be revealed soon.
