Betty Lynn’s sad demise
Our beloved Thelma Lou’ actor Betty Lynn has left this world at the age of 95. She breathed her last on Saturday, 16th of October at Culver City, Calif.
Her death was announced by Andy Griffith Museum on Sunday through a Facebook post. Where they said the actress has peacefully left the world after a brief illness.

Betty Lynn is a popular name among people for her role of deputy Barney Fife’ girlfriend Thelma Lou on 1960s television classic The Andy Griffith Show. This show brought her the fame and identity.
Betty was in the show for a five years time span in five seasons. Between 1961 to 1966, she was seen in 26 episodes of The Andy Griffith Show. In season 6 Lynn appeared in few episodes. Later she reprised her role in “A Return To Mayberry” in 1986 where Thelma and Barney Fife finally got married.
Other milestones of the late actress
Beside this Lynn worked in films such as Sitting Pretty (1948), June Bride (1948) the original Cheaper by the Dozen (1950) and Meet Me In Las Vegas (1956). The actress worked with Hollywood personalities like William Holden, Bette Davis. The actress also appeared in another Andy Griffith series “Matlock”.
Lynn was an inborn entertainer. She stared studying dance and acting from a very young age and started performing as a part of USO camp shows in 1944 when she was teenager. According to the council, she is thought to be the one and only American woman who travelled the dangerous Burma road during the War.
Ron Howard who played Opie, Andy Taylor’s son in The Griffith Show has tweeted on Sunday paying respect to the actress. He said how Lynn used brighten every scene with her presence, “She truly was 95yrs young.”
The council said that Betty Lynn was working on her autobiography before her death which expected to release posthumously.
