The new game will be a standalone instalment
The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners has received an all-new sequel named Chapter 2: Retribution. Despite being a sequel, the new game will be a standalone instalment with possibly few ties to the first part. The announcement was made on the second anniversary of the VR game’s release.
Here are some of the information that the developer Skydance Interactive shared about Chapter 2: Retribution.
What we know
Skydance Interactive has not released a trailer, but they did state that the protagonist, known only as “Tourist,” will once again be the lead. Key art from the game has released, and from the looks of it, players will be able to use a chainsaw to butcher zombies.
It is clear that Retribution is not considered as a proper sequel, but more of an independent story that is not connected to the original. Also, after the recent ‘Aftershocks’ update for Saints & Sinners, players got to find the hideout of a mysterious new enemy who wants to kill Tourist. A clue was given and New Orleans’ French quarter was referenced. If a new update with a new playable area doesn’t appear, then players will head to a new area in the next chapter.
Playable mediums
The first game was available to play on Quest, PSVR and PC VR. New information came that the game will once again appear on Quest, but the two other platforms haven’t given the green light yet.
Saints & Sinners continues to be one of the highest-rated VR games to exist. Skydance announced that it had made $60 million since its launch in 2020. It would not be a shock if Retribution will be announced for Sony’s PSVR 2 headset when it’s ready for launch.
