The Walking Dead Mid-season Finale Is Out, Surprising New Enemy Introduced

Prepare for an “odd locust swarm” (spoilers ahead)

The Walking Dead season 11 has reached the middle, and will be taking a short break. But the makers made sure to keep the hype going by introducing an unexpected enemy.

In the 12 years since AMC introduced the zombie apocalypse drama, we have seen a large number of villains. This includes Alpha played by Samantha Morton, and the eye patch-wearing Governor by David Morissey. However, things are getting stranger. Read on.

Nature will be the new enemy in the series. Showrunner Angela Kang spoke about how it can get in the way of people’s best laid plans. In this case, it will be a locust swarm. But what kind, really? Kang, who took over as showrunner from season 9 spoke about Alexandria getting destroyed by a rainstorm. And now, the people from Alexandria and Hilltop will be facing these insects. Since its The Walking Dead, we can expect the locusts to be mutated and extremely violent.

But that’s not all. Lance Hornsby is out for blood after he is convinced Maggie and her team killed his troops. It now looks like Hornsby has formed an unlikely alliance with Reapers leader Leah, to kill Maggie.

About the Finale

Kang said they will pick up from episode 15. Both the Commonwealth and Hornsby will be on the hunt, but other events will also take place. They will focus on the story taking place outside the walls, and will cover the people trying to unearth lies about the Commonwealth. But the question is, are Leah and Lance really allies. He doesn’t know that she is the one that murdered his troops instead of Maggie. They are both selfish people united by a mutual hatred, so that will be interesting to see as well.
