The Tender Bar narrates the story of a young boy (Sheridan) whose father disappeared soon after his birth. The boy grows up in the light of a bar and seeks a surrogate for his father among the patrons of his uncle’s bar. Eventually, he bonds with the bartender, his uncle Charlie (Affleck), who proves to be a loving fatherly figure. Ultimately, J.R proceeds to pursue his dreams as his mother strives to make a better life for her son and a chaotic family from the Long Island.
