The hype is unreal at this point
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power has now debuted the official character posters!
The Amazon show, which is still a long way away, has already kicked off their marketing. In fact, it has taken the same approach as most superhero movies, starting months ahead. The J.R.R. Tolkien novel adaptation is planned for five seasons. Those five seasons will likely cost the studio well over $1 billion. No stones are left unturned and no punches are pulled.
Let’s take a look at the characters.
The characters
There are 22 stars in the series, and multiple Middle-earth storylines are explored. We start of elven queen Galadriel. The iconic character portrayed by Cate Blanchett in the movies is several thousand years younger. She is played by Morfydd Clark, and will display her anger, brashness, and genius intellect.
She is aware of the looming evil, and when it happens, there was nothing she could do to stop it. Galadriel finds herself on a survival raft, with a mortal castaway named Helbrand (Charlie Vickers).
Helbrand is a new character created for the series, among another character – a silvan elf named Arondir (Ismael Cruz Córdova). Arondir is in a “forbidden” relationship with Bronwyn (Nazanin Boniadi). Bronwyn is a single mother and healer.
Then we see a picture of Elrond (Robert Aramayo), sitting in a meadow. We also see a picture where Elrond meets Galadriel
Other details
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power will tell the stories of Middle-earth’s Second Age. This includes the rise of the Dark Lord Sauron, even though that storyline will take its time. But we get to see hints of danger right from the start.
