The Little Mermaid’ Live Action Trailer is Finally Out, Halle Bailey Makes Ariel Debut

The movie has received an early 2023 release

Disney is home to some of the most iconic films ever made, and among them is The Little Mermaid. The movie was first released in 1989, and is still regarded as one of the finest animated entertainers ever made. It contained some very relatable characters, an excellent villain, and music to die for. The magic will now be recreated in live-action, and the first look was given last night at D23.

The Little Mermaid Teaser

The Little Mermaid

The teaser for The Little Mermaid is out, and we got a look at Ariel herself. Halle Bailey will be playing the titular mermaid princess, who gets so fascinated by the land above that she wishes to leave her home. Jodi Benson voiced the character in the original 1989 movie. The teaser showed us the underwater world where Ariel and the other mermaids live, thriving with life, and was beautiful every step of the way. Of course, the attention cannot be fully grabbed without including a song. We see Ariel looking up and singing the iconic “Part of Your World,” but putting her own unique spin on it.

Disney’s live-action movies usually gross over a billion at the box office, and that is mainly due to their faithful adaptations, but with tiny tweaks that do not ruin the story. The new teaser for The Little Mermaid seems to show that it has also received a unique spin to appeal to modern audiences. It was announced earlier that the movie will feature some new musical numbers.
