Robert Pattinson and Willem Dafoe lose their damn minds in the new trailer.

After a successful world premiere at Cannes and Toronto Film Festival, A24 has premiered the new official trailer of ‘The Lighthouse.’ The second trailer has come a little over a month after the first trailer, and it promises to blow your minds away. The Lighthouse is Robert Egger’s second directorial venture after the universally acclaimed directorial debut in 2015, The Witch.

The Lighthouse starring Robert Pattinson and Willem Dafoe has its trailer #2 out

The black-and-white movie focuses on the two lighthouse keepers during their duration in the lighthouse. Set on a remote New England island at the turn of the 19th century, it chronicles their loneliness, friendship, and fears. The second trailer of the monochromatic movie begins with Ephraim Winslow played by Robert Pattison enquiring Thomas Wake played by Willem Dafoe about the reason behind the departure of the last lighthouse keeper from the lonely island.

The new trailer has increasingly emphasized on the squabbles of two bad roommates, pushing each other to the wall, shouting ‘What’ to each other while in isolation, combating solitude. By the end of the trailer #2, we witness Ephraim and Thomas undoing their feral extremes and crumbling in their solitude only to get confronted by their worst fears.

The film that is set for theatrical release on 18th October was a gushed movie at the film festivals. The top-notch performances, refined cinematography, and fluid direction involved with the movie, were a topic of discussion amongst the critics.
