Joel hasn’t been seen yet, but it is know that he’s still around, as the latest E3 gameplay demo makes a reference to Ellie’s “old man.” However, that does not name Joel explicitly, so there is a probability that his presence will be a psychological one and not a physical one. Whether or not Ellie believed in Joel’s lie is not yet known, however we do know for certain that she seems really upset and angry. In the game’s first trailer, she reveals her intention to “Kill every last one of them,” and the 2018 trailer inter-cuts moments of intimate friendship and romance. In addition, there is also gory violence showcased which is at par with horror cinemas. This makes us believe Ellie is an an interesting place with a lot of thrills and adventures awaiting her.
