The high-profile singer couple, Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello, have been keeping fans on toes since sometimes regarding their relationship status. The couple who indulge in PDA hasn’t yet admitted their relationship, keeping hopes of fans dwindling.
The Big 2-1!
Although, Shawn’s 21st birthday on 8th August brought happy news for all the shippers as they could finally feel their ship sailing. Camila wished her beau on Instagram with a special throwback picture, where Shawn was seen combing hands through her hair, captioning it “I Love You.” And if you think that was all of it, well, it isn’t, a video that surfaced from Shawn’s 21st birthday party at New York City’s 1 Hotel, showed the couple passionately kissing each other while the crowd cheered for them.
Bonding with family
Reportedly, Shawn took Camila to meet his parents on 9th August, the next day after his birthday. The couple was located strolling across the streets of Brooklyn with their hands interlocked. It was a lunch date where the couple was all smiles with his parents. And this isn’t the first family meeting; Camila was spotted with her family at the singer’s Miami concert last month.
Missed 2019 Teen Choice awards, but why?
After all the glimpses of make-out sessions that witnessed throughout, they wanted to see more of their PDA at the Teen awards where the singers were nominated, but to their dismay, the couple gave it a miss as ‘Stitches’ singer had a concert scheduled in Newark as a part of his world tour. And we believe that the ‘girlfriend’ must be the lead cheerleader for her beau at the concerts.
Shawn who won Teen Choice Award for Male Artist couldn’t make it to California to fetch his award, but he didn’t forget to express his gratitude for his fans for making him the winner through a video put up by Teen Choice Awards’ official twitter handle.
When did it begin?
The romance which has become the talk of the town was first surfaced back in September 2014 when Camila posted an open flirtatious tweet for Shawn, calling her ‘ShawnyBoy’ followed by his appearance on her Instagram in 2015.
Soon after, they were spotted hanging out together at various parties and public events, but it felt like a dead-end when Shawn denied dating Camila in 2015 September. Sparking the rumors, came ‘I know what you did last summer,’ a collaboration of the couple released on 20 November 2015 which fetched them an award as well.
Since then, there have been numerous occasions which fuelled the rumors of their scintillating chemistry even more. On 20 June 2019, the internet exploded because these two decided to take their equation several notches up with their new collaboration, ‘Señorita,’ which has been topping the charts and cementing their love story further. It’s even presumed that lyrics of the intense peppy number are said to be designed out from singers’ own story.

What might have been under wraps all along came out in open when a fan captured the two singers locking lips in Oakland, and then again in Tampa, and again in Miami, where the couple was seen making out in the water body.

While getting chatting with Variety, Camila talks about being in love. She explains what falling in love feels like, beamingly she says, it’s like an infinite amount of layers and angles. Without giving out the name, she further added that she fell in love and just opened up and everything was written at that moment.
She also talked about teaming up with Shawn for their duet, ‘Señorita,’ it was so much fun for her getting to work and do things with someone who meant a lot to her.
She hadn’t taken the name her ‘love,’ but everything she said gave an inkling of a romantic relationship between the Canadian and Spanish singers.
