“The Continental”: Flight Attendant’s Colin Woodell joins the John Wick’s prequel series as the lead

John Wick is one of the best action genre movies of the decade. It was further announced that it will have its prequel series The Continental. The Continental will be a TV program that will explore the origin of hotel-for-assassins. The series has found its lead actor in Colin Woodell. It is announced that the actor has joined the project along with Mel Gibson. 

He’ll be playing the main lead in the series. He’ll play the role of a younger version of  Winston Scott, the character which is played by Ian McShane in the John Wick movies.  Colin Woodell is known for his roles in TV Series such as The Flight Attendant, The Purge, The Originals, The Neighbour, Masters of Sex, and many more.

Synopsis of the new series

The Continental follows the story of Winston Scott getting dragged through hell in 1975 in New York City. He will have to face the past he left behind and in doing so he goes into the dark course of the city’s mysterious hotel. This hotel serves as the main meeting point for the world’s dangerous criminals.  

The series is created by Lionsgate and Starz. The series will be a three-night special event. The show was announced in 2018, it was said that it will put its focus on The Continental Hotel. Along with Woodell, more cast members are also announced. This includes Hubert Point Du-Jour, Mishel Prada, Jessica Allain, Ben Robson, and  Nhung Kate. There is no release date set for the TV series yet.

The fourth movie of John Wick is also slated to hit the screens in 2022. Along with The Continental, another spin-off movie Ballerina is also in development. This one will be directed by Len Wiseman.
