The fans of the Boys have something to be excited about. its official that ‘The Boys” has been renewed for its second season. It was in fact formally announced by Amazon when Season one was streaming on Prime Video. Its no news that The Boys Season 1 was a huge success and was critically acclaimed.
Jennifer Salke, the head of Amazon Studios said that they were thrilled that The Boys had surpassed their predictions for viewing in its first two weeks, and had become one of most-watched Amazon Original series by our Prime Video customers which in fact created great momentum and excitement for them as they are getting ready for season two.
The trailer was released in early December. The shooting for this season had begun in the summer of 2019 in Toronto. The video was later removed by Amazon Prime for reasons unknown. But finally we have it here and it can be streamed online.
Most our favourite characters from season 1 will be reprising their respective roles. The people that will be reprising their roles are Karl Urban as Billy Butcher, Jack Quaid as Hughie, Erin Moriarty as Starlight and Chace Crawford as The Deep. We can also expect to see some new faces in this season. Aya Cash is confirmed to be playing a role in this season. Kripke will also join the cast. He let us know via his official Twitter handle. His role is not yet known to us but he had posted a selfie-and tweeted, “Thank You @pattonswalt, that was AMAZING! #TheBoysTV #Season2 #SecretRole.”
An official release date has not been announced as of now, but sources say it is already confirmed and that the show has been renewed for a second instalment. About the release date of the show, Karl Urban aka Billy Butcher shared on his social media that the filming of the season 2 has already been done with and the release date will be made official very soon.
