It seems like Taylor Swift has again made it to the news headlines! This time not because of any of her new songs or relationship rumours.
Taylor Swift is not allowed to perform her early songs at the AMA’s!
Taylor Swift Not Allowed To Perform Her Own Songs? But Why?
Apparently, Taylor Swift cannot use any of her old songs for her Netflix documentary based on her life which has been under production for several years! She cannot even perform those songs at The American Music Awards as well. This roadblock is a probable outcome of her dispute with her music label.
Swift’s disclosure came a few months after there was an alleged feud between Taylor and Scooter Braun. This dispute occurred after her music manager Scooter took control of her old catalogue after he acquired her former music label, Big Machine Label Group. According to the singer, Scott Borchetta and Scooter Braun have said that she cannot perform the town songs on television because that means she is re-recording her music before she is allowed to next year.
Taylor Decides To Speak Up!
Taylor Swift said that she will not tolerate this kind of exploitation as these people have not build a relationship that Taylor had built with her fans. She also said it is the worst-case scenario when she learned that her music catalogue has been sold to a company owned by Braun.
Taylor also states that the two have told her team that they would allow her to perform her songs only if she agrees to not re-record copycat versions of her songs next year. They also told her that she needs to stop talking about Scott Borchetta and Scooter Braun. Justin Bieber also reached out to Taylor for help but ended up having a feud with her. Justin claimed that getting people to hate on Scooter is not fair. On the other hand Halsey, Iggy took Taylor’s side.
