All of Taylor Swift’s past lovers have had a lot to say regarding their breakup with her. Taylor Swift has had a lot of famous celebrity boyfriends in the past. There’s a lot we get to know about Taylor’s boyfriends through her songs, written for them. But we hardly get to know the other side of the story. Let’s look at what some of her exes have had to say.
John Mayer, who dated Swift from December 2009 to February 2010, discussed the “humiliating” experience referring to the song “Dear John” which was penned down for him. In an interview with Rolling Stone, he recalled how the song made him feel terrible and that he didn’t deserve it.
“I’m pretty good at taking accountability now, and I never did anything to deserve that. It was a really lousy thing for her to do.” He added.
Joe Jonas dated Taylor Swift in 2008. The pair broke up and that was the inspiration for Swift’s song “Better Than Revenge” – which was reportedly about Camilla Belle, Joe’s ex girlfriend.
Jonas expressed his take on the split with Swift on his Myspace page saying that he never cheated on a girlfriend and that it might feel better for someone to assume or imply that he has been unfaithful but that’s not true. He also added that the breakup could have been because feelings changed and the heart moved on.
Calvin Harris and Taylor Swift had a whirlwind romance and eventually had an ugly breakup. He cried foul at Swift’s PR team for bad mouthing him.
Harris talked about his split with Taylor and said, “It’s very difficult when something I consider so personal plays out very publicly. ”
Singer Harry Styles dated Swift for a about a year from October 2012 to January 2013. Many songs including “Out of the Woods” and “Style,” as well as the One Direction song “Perfect” were penned down as a result of their relationship.
Styles disclosed his feelings regarding the relationship with Swift during a Google Hangout. He said that everyone writes songs from their personal experiences referring to her song about him.
“And she’s really good, so they’re good songs.” He said. He also also added that he considers himself really lucky that there was a song written for him.
After Styles, Swift started dating actor Taylor Lautner in 2009. Lautner talked about the his relationship with during a Facebook Q&A with Lea Michele and John Stamos.
Michelle managed to get a reaction out of Lautner regarding the song Swift wrote about him, “Back to December:” When Michelle asked Lautner if Swift had written a song about him, he said that, that’s what Taylor does, she writes songs.
