‘Supergirl’ Finale Synopsis Teases the Return of Some Familiar Characters

A wedding is being teased as well in Supergirl!

The CW’s Supergirl is close to its end, and fans, as well as the cast and crew are in for a bittersweet ride. And now, the synopses for the “The Last Gauntlet” and “Kara”, the two final episodes have been released. What’s more, the two episodes will air in a single night on Tuesday, November 9th, and brings the six-season show to an end. We will get to see a major fight against Lex Luthor (Jon Cryer) and Nyxly (Peta Sergeant), and the wedding of ALex Danvers (Chyler Leigh) and Kelly Olsen (Azie Tesfai). Both events are believed to bring back some familiar faces.

The returning characters will include former series mains James Olsen (Mehcad Brooks), Winn Schott (Jeremy Jordan), and Mon-El (Chris Wood). Now for the synopses of the two episodes.

The Penultimate Episode will be a build-up to the finale, and will have Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) and her super-powered friends take drastic action after a loved one gets kidnapped by Nyxly and Lex Luthor. But an unlikely ally steps in to support the team. The episode was directed by Glen Winter, the story was written by J. Holtham, and teleplay is by Derek Simon and Jay Faerber.

The epic finale is two hours long, and will bring back familiar faces and concludes with a beautiful wedding. Supergirl gets the help she needs, and Lex and Nyxly’s plans get foiled. With their mission over, everyone gets ready to see Alex and Kelly walk down the aisle. Mehcad Brooks, Jeremy Jordan and Chris Wood return for the series finale. The episode was directed by Jesse Warn, the story was written by Robert Rovner and Jessica Queller, and teleplay by Rob Wright and Derek Simon.

Co-showrunner Jessica Queller spoke in an interview that there’s so many special things in the final season. The makers were able to include social issues like the Black Lives Matter movements and was able to talk about inclusion, equality, other important values. Queller also said that they were able to bring a very satisfying arc for Kara Danvers.
