Princess Leia is in Episode IX? How?

Yes, the late actress will be a part of the upcoming movie which will release on December 20. Similar to past movies, Princess Leia will be a major part of this flick. As addressed by the writer-director, J.J. Abrams at D23, the character of Leia is the heart of the story. They couldn’t have possibly told the story without Leia being there.

Princess Leia to be a major part of Stars Wars: Episode IX

He further explains that the team had unused footage of the late actress from Episode VIII, which they devised to use in a novel way to make it a part of Episode IX. Carrie’s daughter, Billie who also stars in the movie was more than happy to give her consent for this thought of the team.

Homage to the late actress

Carrie Fisher has breathed her last 3 years ago but her legacy will continue to shine.

She meant so much for the team of Star Wars. The void left by her death was deeply felt by each one of them while filming the final part of the American epic space saga. In a statement released in 2018 July, Abrams had said that they desperately loved Carrie. The thought of finding a truly satisfying conclusion to the Sky Walker saga evaded them. They would never recast, or use a CGI version; that’s when the team zeroed upon the idea of using unused footage from Episode VIII.

The end of this mammoth phenomenon of a movie will be bittersweet for everyone. Not only they will see the Space chronicles for the last time on the screens, but they would get to witness Princess Leia, too, who is no longer among us. Through this, the team is bestowing a closure that the epic tale deserves and felicitation for the late actress, Carrie Fisher, who made Princess Leia a rage among people.

Legacy of the Late actress, Carrie Fisher will be commemorated.

We can truly understand the sentiments of Billie Lourd on seeing her mother again on the big screen even if it means through her old work and the pride seeing the honor her mother is receiving even after her demise.
