‘Sonic the Hedgehog 3’ To Zoom In On Christmas 2024, To Compete Against ‘Avatar 3’

Christmas-themed, maybe?

Sonic the Hedgehog continues to have a growing fanbase, and the producers know it. With the highly successful sequel releasing earlier this year, Paramount has wasted no time in announcing that they are proceeding with Sonic the Hedgehog 3, and has also announced the release date.

Paramount has set December for the release of Sonic the Hedgehog 3. The season which endorsed red, white, and green will now be getting a flash of blue. But Sonic will be facing some major competition during Christmas 2024, and no, it won’t be Robotnik. James Cameron is ready to roll out Avatar: The Seed Bearer on December 20, 2024. He has set aside Avatar: The Way of Water for this December, and will likely spell trouble for a lot of other movies.

The release date was shared by the movie’s official Twitter page. They also added that they will be “running faster, flying higher, and punching harder” with the third movie, which might likely be the final one. The sequel had introduced Tails and Knuckles, so what is remaining is Shadow. The movies had borrowed just the right amount of inspiration from the classic games, so we can expect a combination of 2005’s Shadow the Hedgehog and 2001’s Sonic Adventure 2.

Before Sonic the Hedgehog 2 was released, Paramount had announced that aside from the third movie, they will also be moving forward with a Knuckles spin-off mini series, with Idris Elba returning to voice the red echidna. Sonic (Ben Schwartz) and Tails (Colleen O’Shaughnessey) are expected to make appearances in the series. However, Jim Carrey returning as Robotnik is not likely, as the actor has been talking about retiring.
