After a six-year legal battle, Angelina Jolie has finally filed divorce papers against Brad Pitt. In a document sent by Angelina’s lawyer, Anne Kiley, the actor denied all of her claims, calling them “a personal attack” and “misrepresentation.”
Kiley told the Associated Press in a statement on Thursday that, “unlike the other side,” Brad has owned everything he’s been responsible for from day one. The attorney continued, saying that Brad has constantly been under attack and misrepresented by others. Thankfully, Kiley said, public authorities have found independence in their decisions when it comes to response against Brad.

After Jolie filed documents in court Tuesday relating to the ongoing legal battle over the French winery shared by her and Pitt before their divorce, Pitt’s legal team spoke out. In this filing, the actress pointed to a September 2016 flight she took with their children – Maddox, 21, Pax, 18, Zahara, 17 Shiloh 16 , and twins Knox and Vivienne 14 – before filing for divorce within that month and ending their nearly decade-long relationship.
According to Jolie, in the court documents, it is alleged that “Pitt was physically and emotionally abusive to Jolie and their children, who were then between the ages of 8 and 15,” throughout the long flight. After landing, for her family’s well-being, Jolie decided filing for divorce would be best. In addition to beer being poured on her, Pitt also allegedly pour wine on the children.

Jolie stated, “I was eager to go public with my conclusion that he had been physically and emotionally abusive throughout our relationship.” And I’m happy to tell you that after I went public with my allegations of physical and emotional abuse, he allowed me an opportunity to buy out my share of the French winery.” Jolie added that she offered Pitt a chance to purchase her stake in the French vineyard after their split, but claims her ex-boyfriend would only agree to her terms if she signed an NDA and she couldn’t talk about his physical and emotional abuse of her or their children outside of court. When the actress refused to sign the agreement, according to Jolie’s account, “Pitt walked away from the deal.”
Following an altercation on board a flight in 2016, Pitt was investigated by the Los Angeles Department of Children and Family Services. The agency cleared Pitt after conducting a two-month long investigation. Additionally, due to the international incident taking place on the flight, the FBI also inquired into the matter. However, charges were never filed and the bureau closed its investigation in November 2016.
