Is it that time at last? (Spoilers for She-Hulk Episode 2 ahead)
She-Hulk: Attorney at Law episode 2 may be finally giving fans something they have been praying for – World War Hulk. Episode one showed Jennifer Walters coming to terms with her new powers while staying with her cousin Bruce Banner, who has been known as Smart Hulk since Avengers: Endgame. But some major setups have been happening, and many fans who were disappointed about the Hulk may get to rejoice.
About World War Hulk
As with any major event, the proper time has to be given to set it up. And She-Hulk episode 2 has been doing just that, giving multiple hints that World War Hulk is in store. Comic book fans already know the story. It is about the Hulk getting tricked into space by the Illuminati because they saw him as a threat. However, Hulk returns to Earth stronger than ever to get his revenge.
In episode 1, we see a Sakaarian spaceship suddenly appear, causing Jennifer and Bruce’s car to crash, and for her to get her powers. Episode 2 follows this by showing Banner in the ship, flying off to some destination among the stars. Fans got excited and immediately took to Twitter to voice their excitement and see if it is indeed what they are hoping for.
What the Writer Said
She-Hulk lead writer Jessica Gao has addressed this bit of news. She said that the motivation behind sending Banner away was to give Mark Ruffalo a definitive exit, so the fans won’t be looking for him in every episode. But whatever happens after Hulk leaves is in Marvel’s hands. While this is far from confirmation on World War Hulk, Marvel is aware that fans are looking forward to it. Hopefully they will deliver in a few years.
