Sandi Toksvig quits ‘The Great British Bake Off’ after 3 years being the host

The Great British Bake Off also know as ‘Bake Off’ or ‘GBBO’ is a British baking competition television show which is airing since 2010. From the year 2017, Sandi Tosvig is serving as one of the hosts alongside Noel Fielding and judges, Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith. On Thursday, the broadcaster has announced that she is stepping down from her role as host of Channel 4‘s ‘The Great British Bake Off’. She is quitting after three years.

She stated through a post on Twitter that when stepping down from a job it is common for people to say that they are doing so to spend more time with the family but she is departing from ‘The Great British Bake Off’ show so that she can spend more time with her other work. Further, she also added that her waistline will testify that the Bake Off is a time-consuming show.

Sandi Tosvig has joined the ‘Bake Off’ show when the same was moved from the BBC to the UK’s Channel 4 and took over the presenting duties from Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins. She has been instrumental in the success of the show. Channel 4‘s director of programs, Ian Katz stated that Sandra is a huge part of why Bake Off‘s move to Channel 4 has been a success.

Prue Leith, one of the judges stated that he loved working with Sandra. She has been a brilliant host and he felt enormous fun working with her. He is in awe of how hard she works, juggling so many different projects. Her co-host, Noel stated that he was feeling like “Tom without Jerry” and he is gonna miss the wonderful times they got to play together in the tent.
