Ryan Reynolds and John Krasinski are joining forces for a new feature film – Imaginary Friends.
With these two actors headlining the cast, the movie already seems a must-watch. But they are not only starring but taking full control of the project. Reynolds will act and produce the movie while Krasinski will co-star, write, direct as well as produce it. Phew, talk about the jack of all trades and you’ll see John Krasinski in bold letters.
The movie Imaginary Friends has an interesting storyline too. It revolves around a man who can talk to their people’s imaginary friends. And he befriends the ones who are forgotten and discarded. But there is a dark twist to this fantasy-comedy, some imaginary friends do not take kindly to being overlooked. They turn evil and have to be stopped from destroying the world.
Reynolds is reportedly playing the role of the protagonist who has the superpower. There is still no news about Krasinski’s role in the film. The film was sent to many studios last week and it seems that a lot of big shots were interested in it. The names of Reynolds and Krasinski attached to the interesting plot made for a heated bidding war. This included Sony, Lionsgate, and Paramount among many others. And Paramount won the negotiations round for the rights.
Perhaps it was the loyalty of John Krasinski that made him choose Paramount. After all, his mega-hit A Quiet Place was developed by the same studio. Krasinski wrote, directed and acted in that movie as well, along with wife Emily Blunt. The studio is also in charge of the sequel to A Quiet place which is expected to hit theatres around March 2020.
This new joint project of Ryan Reynolds and John Krasinski comes just a week after their Instagram post together. Both stars visited the Animal Embassy sanctuary in Connecticut and uploaded a picture, making fans wish for them to collaborate.
Well, our wishes did come true this time!
