The star of the Harry Potter franchise, Rupert Grint, and his girlfriend Georgia Groome are expecting their first child together. Page six reported that a representative of the 31-year-old actor, best known for playing Ron Weasley in the hit films, shared the news on Friday.
According to the spokesperson, Grint and Georgia are very excited to announce that they are expecting a baby and would ask for privacy at this time. This statement came one day after Groome was photographed with her growing baby bump when Grint and Georgia were buying essential supplies in North London.
Rupert Grint and Georgia Groome, 28, have been dating since 2011. Georgia is well known for her roles in Angus, Thongs and Full Frontal Snogging. Many fans congratulated Rupert on social media. A fan congratulating the star said that he is going to be a great dad. Another wrote that he loves this as their sweet little Ron is going to be a father.
The role of Ron Weasley was played by Rupert Grint in all eight films in the Harry Potter franchise along side Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson. He has also acted in the films such as Thunderpants, Cherrybomb, Wild Target and others.
It was in 2018, that Rupert opened up about his wishes to start a family with Georgia and also joked about naming his son after his popular Harry Potter character.
The actor in a conversation with The Guardian had mentioned that turning 30 felt strange and it just doesn’t feel like he is there yet, and he does not know what the future holds. He also added that he was just going to go with the flow, and keep playing interesting characters and see what happens. He also continued to say that he would like to settle down and have kids soon.
