Riverdale: Showrunner Teases That Season 7 Will Be “Totally Surprising” and “Completely Inevitable”

The final episode of season 6 will be premiering on July 31

Riverdale is on the news again, as it is close to the end. The messy show is often the butt of many memes and harmless internet trolling like most shows from The CW. After all, the show began as a darker take on the beloved Archie Comics, but turned out to be something entirely different in the recent seasons. Fans were surprised, and so was showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa. Let’s read in detail about what’s in store for the show.

In an interview with Collider, Aguirre-Sacasa spoke about the unexpected plot twists in Riverdale, which happened after the time skip. He also gave a little idea on which direction the show will be taking in the final season.

The showrunner was asked if he always knew that the show will be delving into witches, necromancy, and alternate dimensions, and he said that he didn’t think anyone was aware of that. He said that he didn’t even expect the show to get a seventh season. No matter how campy the show is, with its ridiculous ploy twists, cringe dialogues, and the occasional musical dance numbers, it has had a steady number of viewers.

About Riverdale season 7, Aguirre-Sacasa said that he’s really excited about it and while it is not what he originally imagined, it was still kind of perfect. It is going to be really surprising, and yet completely inevitable.
