The talented Australian actress, The Babysitter and Bad Girl starrer Samara weaving, signed the deal to star in upcoming G.I. Joe toy line movie ‘Snake eyes’, which is the G.I. Joe spinoff. It is the 3rd installment of its franchise.
Samara Weaving who has recently been seen in the horror hit Ready or Not will play the role of counter-intelligence officer, and the first female member of the team, Scarlette.
The already boarded cast of Paramount pictures are Henry Golding who will play Snake Eyes, Iko Uwais seen as Hard Master, Andrew Koji as Storm Shadow and Ursula Corbero will be shown as Baroness. The team is joined by the confirmed villain of the film, Takehiro Hira, and Haruka Abe.
The story is about Snake Eyes, a black mask man who hides behind his black dress without uttering any word, joining Ninja clan to take revenge for his father’s death. He shares special relations with Scarlette, and mostly out on his solo-mission with is pet Timber, a wolf.
The G.I. Joe spinoff is directed by The Captain and The Time Traveler’s Wife director, Robert Schwentke, and screenplay by Hercules and Beauty and The Beast screenwriter Evan Spiliotopoulos.
The action-packed movie began its shoot on October 15 and will take place in Vancouver and Japan, and is expected to complete till December of this year.
However, Snake eyes fans have to wait till next year, as the movie is scheduled to release on October 16, 2020.
