We are getting very close to the end
Netflix has released the trailer and first look images from season 4 of Ozark, and from the looks of it, we are now closer to the final showdown. Fans having been impatiently waiting since season 3 aired in March 2020, and the fate of Marty (Jason Bateman) and Wendy (Laura Linney) are unknown.
A quick recap
Spoilers for season 3 ahead.
Season 3 of Ozark ended with Helen (Janet McTeer) making a request to Navarro (Felix Solis) to eliminate Marty and Wendy, so that she can take over their Ozark illegal operation. Marty and Wendy understood that finding out Helen’s strategy and proving their value to Navarro can end this ugly cartel war. Meanwhile, the Lagunas gang members were arrested after Marty takes photos from Jonah’s (Skylar Gaertner) drone footage which had Cosgrove’s (John Bedford Lloyd) attacking Maya (Jessica Frances Dukes).
Of course, Helen never gets to see her dreams fulfilled as Navarro kills her in front of Marty and Wendy, after all three are called for his son’s baptism in Mexico. Navarro said he wants to continue conducting business with the Byrdes.
New trailer and photos
The new trailer is shown in a very Christopher Nolan-styled trailer, where the events are happening in reverse. We start with a crashed station wagon, and then Marty’s monologue starts, about how bad decisions lead to bad consequences. Then the wagon’s crash is shown in rewind, and everything that happens in between that leads up to his point.
The first-look photos show Ruth (Julia Garner) returning, with some new cast members. Then a couple of photos of Marty and Wendy hiding more secrets, landing in trouble, and finally, drenched in blood. The season can be wild from start to end. And also, it seems the Byrde family was in the station wagon that crashed into a tree in the trailer.
Season 4 of Ozark is split into two, with the first part airing on January 21, 2022, only on Netflix.
