Oppenheimer: Here is Cillian Murphy’s First Look in Christopher Nolan’s Latest Directorial

Nolan has also added Alden Ehrenreich and David Krumholtz into the cast

Universal Pictures released the first look of actor Cillian Murphy as J. Robert Oppenheimer, in Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer. The epic thriller has been garnering a lot of attention since its announcement two months ago. Aside from being a Nolan movie, Oppenheimer also has an all-star cast.

Aside from Murphy, the movie stars his A Quiet Place II co-star Emily Blunt as his wife Katherine “Kitty” Oppenheimer. Kitty was a biologist and botanist. The movie also stars Matt Damon as General leslie Groves Jr., director of the Manhattan Project. Next up is Robert Downey Jr. as Lewis Strauss, a founding member of the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission.

Then we have Academy Award-nominee Florence Pugh as psychiatrist Jean Tatlock; Benny Safdie as theoretical physicist Edward Teller; Michael Angarano as Robert Serber, and Josh Hartnett as American nuclear scientist Ernest Lawrence. The movie also stars Rami Malek and Kenneth Branagh in undisclosed roles.

Recently-revealed cast members include Dane DeHaan (The Amazing Spider-Man 2); Dylan Arnold (Halloween); Alden Ehrenreich (Solo: A Star Wars Story); David Krumholtz (Superbad), and Matthew Modine (The Dark Knight Rises).

Oppenheimer will be produced by Nolan, Emma Thomas, and Atlas Entertainment’s Charles Roven. It will also mark Nolan’s first venture with Universal, after he publicly spoke against Warner Bros’ decision to release movies simultaneously in theatres and HBO Max.
