Olivia Wilde Joined by Florence Pugh putting down all rumours to rest
Many hours before the red carpet premiere of Harry Styles’ new movie Don’t Worry Darling on Monday at the Venice Film Festival, admirers of the singer flocked to the Palazzo del Cinema.
A press conference for the anticipated film was held inside the nearby Sala Casino with the director Olivia Wilde and some of the cast, including her boyfriend Harry Styles, Chris Pine, and Gemma Chan.
Harry Styles appears to be completely lost in “Don’t Worry Darling,” while Florence Pugh shines.
Florence Pugh, who plays the lead in the movie, was noticeably absent from the press conference and, according to reports, won’t be fielding questions on the red carpet either. Her disappearance coincides with tabloid reports of a disagreement between she and Wilde as well as stolen audio and text messages from the movie’s former star, accused serial abuser Shia LaBeouf.
Despite Wilde’s assertion that he was fired due to aggressiveness issues and a lack of chemistry with Florence Pugh, LaBeouf, who is infamous for piling on the lies, claims that it was his decision to leave the production. In a video that LaBeouf shared, Wilde begs him to return to the picture while portraying “Miss Flo” (Florence Pugh) as the problem on set.
When questioned about Florence Pugh’s absence and rumors of a “falling-out” between the two, Wilde did not refute the allegations; instead, she stated that Pugh was preoccupied with filming the Dune sequel.
Florence is a power, and they are very thankful that she was able to attend tonight’s performance despite being involved in Dune’s filming, added Wilde. She said that she knows how disruptive it is to lose an actor even for a day as a director, so she is very thankful to her, very grateful to Denis Villeneuve for supporting them, and they are really glad they will get to honor her work tonight. She continued that shec an’t express how grateful she is to having her as their lead enough. She is fantastic in the movie. And with regard to the constant tabloid rumors and noise, the internet basically feeds itself. She no inclination to contribute. “It appears to be sufficiently fed, in my opinion, Wilde concluded.
The press conference moderator cut off another reporter’s attempt to inquire about Shia LaBeouf’s claims by saying, “I think that question has been answered.”
