Netflix’s “Umbrella Academy” is Returning for Season 2! Cast, Trailer & Release Date Revealed

Netflix’s Umbrella Academy is coming back for its second season. The series is based on the comic book series by My Chemical Romance’s Gerard Way. It was illustrated by Gabriel Bá. Umbrella Academy became immensely popular with the people and has amassed a large audience.

How much of Umbrella Academy are we getting?

There are three volumes of The Umbrella Academy comics- Apocalypse Suite, Dallas, and Hotel Oblivion. The series will possibly continue for three seasons at the least. Steve Blackman, the showrunner of the series talked to IndieWire, he said that he hopes to have the series until the fourth season and wants to make a good ending for the show.

Shooting for the second season began in June 2019. Steve Blackman previously said that it takes generally 18 months to develop a season. According to this, season two can be expected to come around the end of this year. Netflix France on 25th November 2019 posted a tweet on their Twitter account saying that the shooting for season two had finished.

The cast of season two will include Ellen Page (Vanya), Tom Hopper (Luther). Emmy Raver-Lampman (Allison), Robert Sheehan (Klaus), David Castañeda (Diego), Aidan Gallagher (Number Five), and Ethan Hwang (Ben). There is a possibility that Sir Reginald Hargreeves, their adoptive father will return in the show in the form of flashbacks and also might happen with their mother Grace Hargreeves who was played by Jordan Claire Robbins. The cast will also be joined by Ritu Arya who will play Lila, Yusuf Gatewood who will play Raymond, and Marin Ireland who will play Sissy.

In season two of Umbrella Academy we will see the kids in a new time and a new place dealing with the aftermath of the apocalypse their sister Vanya caused. They will have to figure out how to make their sister a lesser threat than she already is.
