NBC has returned with the fourth season of “The Good Place” on the 26th of September 2019 in the USA. This automatically means that season four will come on Netflix UK on the 27th of September 2019. This season will be the last season of the series.
On July 17th, 2019, Dan Snierson shared the first still from the show’s season four. It showed Jason and Tahani hugging Eleanor, presumably in the aftermath of the events of last year’s finale. This will be the show’s last season as said by the show-runner Michael Schur in an open letter to “The Good Place” fans.

He had written that he felt that “four seasons – just over 50 episodes – was the right lifespan”. He also admitted that despite the temptation, they didn’t want to “tread water just because the water is so warm and pleasant.”

The cast of the season will include all the main characters. This includes, Eleanor Shellstrop (Kristen Bell), artificial intelligence Janet (D’Arcy Carden), celestial being Michael (Ted Danson), Eleanor’s assigned “soulmate” Chidi (William Jackson Harper), socialite Tahani (Jameela Jamil) and Taiwanese monk Jianyu (Manny Jacinto), later revealed to be amateur criminal Jason Mendoza.
The series starts with Eleanor Shellstrop waking up into a “Good Place”. This is a place where she goes after her death. She is introduced by Michael. Eleanor ends up here as a reward for her righteous life. She later realizes that she was sent there by mistake and it is then when her other afterlife humans, Chidi and Tahani, help her and Jason( who also thinks that he ended there by mistake) to become a better person. However as by the time season one ends, Eleanor discovers that “The Good Place” is actually the “The bad place” and Michael is the demon and not an angel.
The show airs on NBC weekly in the United States and is available on Netflix in the UK.
