Seis Manos is a venture to represent the Mexican community and culture. Surely, the Netflix series is giving vibes of the 1970’s era.
Seis Manos is a co-production of Powerhouse Animation Studios and Viz Productions. Furthermore, the latter distributed and dubbed NARUTO, INUYASHA, and BLEACH.
Importantly, the series mixes black magic, martial arts, zombie-like demons, cop drama, blaxploitation. So, this is sure to make you feel nostalgic.
The anime released on Netflix on 3rd October. It is created by Brad Graeber and Álvaro Rodríguez. Moreover, the story takes place in the fictional town of San Simon in the 1970s, Mexico.
The plots follow three orphans. Since their master Chiu is murdered, Silencio, Jesus, and Isabela seek vengeance.
Thus, they want to deliver justice. However, Chiu’s connection with drug lord El Balde makes it thrilling.
The orphaned martial artists battle demon-possessed monsters. Also, bullets, fists, dramatic moves will keep your interest.
Though the story’s plot could be guessed, but in-the-moment is what describes this anime.
Animation aesthetics is impressive. However, the bad guy appears cliche. But this only adds to its 70’s charm. Also, the voice-overs are remarkable, suiting the characters.
The musical backdrop is a mix of Mexican and Chinese though it may seem annoying after repetition.
The characters are beautifully written. Still, Jesus stands out. A chubby guy with the habit of drinking, he sure could fight. Besides, he is a fun-loving guy. Secondly, the trailer must have captured your attention with this character.
Although Garcia is a police officer, she is fed up with the activities of the town. She is agitated with demons and dark lords prowling in her town.
Clearly, the fighting takes the cake. This anime does not shy away from gruesome graphics. Since this show involves demons and drug lords, violence is compulsory. You could clearly enjoy the shredding of body parts, blood, and gore.
If you want a show which blandly depicts action and brutality, this is your next stop.
Beware! It is not for the feeble-hearted.
