A major topic for true crime fans is on the way
Netflix has unveiled the first look for Dahmer, a crime series that has Evan Peters playing the titular serial killer. A nine-second teaser was also shared. The series has been created by Ryan Murphy, the brain behind American Horror Story, along with Ian Brennan, co-creator of The Politician and Hollywood. Check out the image of Peters in character below.
The series, otherwise dubbed as Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, will tell the nightmarish story of how the famed serial killer murdered seventeen young men and boys in the time between 1978 and 1991. We will be seeing the events unfold through the eyes of the victims. Also, the series will give a detailed look into how unfairly the Wisconsin police handled the investigations of all the murders that Dahmer committed.
This is not the first time that the notorious serial killer made his way to Hollywood. Back in 2002, Jeremy Renner portrayed him. Then in 2017, Ross Lynch played the role of a teenage Jeffrey in My Friend Dahmer. It was based on a book by the killer’s real-life classmate Derf Backderf.
Cast and Crew
Peters had frequently collaborated with Murphy on American Horror Story, in nine of the ten seasons. He also appeared in Murphy’s Pose. Aside from Peters, the series will have Niecy Nash, Penelope Ann Miller, Shaun J. Brown, Colin Ford, and Richard Jenkins. Executive producers include Brennan and Murphy. They jointly wrote the first four episodes, while Brennan went solo on the fifth. Writers for the remaining episodes include Todd Kubrak, Reilly Smith, and David McMillan.
Dahmer is expected to release sometime later this year.
