Fans desperately want Charlie Cox to return as the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen
The rumors of Daredevil being part of Spider-Man: No Way Home had been doing the rounds for a while now. And Netflix‘s Daredevil star Charlie Cox knows that the fans want him back. After all, he had completely owned the role in his four outings as the blind lawyer/ crimefighting vigilante.
In a recent interview with Jessica Shaw on SiriusXM, the English actor spoke about the speculation surrounding his involvement in the MCU. And he admitted that playing Matt Murdock once again is not an unattractive thought.
A new devil
Cox said that when a writer and an artist team up for a comic run, they’ll do 10 or 20 issues. And if there was an opportunity for him to return as Daredevil, it would look like a reimagining of the character and the show. If the producers were to choose him, there will be some elements that will be the same. Or they might choose someone else and reboot it once again.
Cox had appeared in the Netflix series created by Drew Goddard for three seasons and a total of 39 episodes. He also starred in Netflix’s The Defenders. Unfortunately, Daredevil was cancelled in November 2018, shortly after season 3 premiered. This caused an outrage among the fans.
A double-edged sword
Fans now want Daredevil to have a new season or join the MCU like many other new characters, but Charlie has his doubts. He said that the situation could be a double-edged sword.
“You’ve got to be careful what you wish for,” he said. He went on to say that it has a chance of not coming out the same way. Also, too much time has passed. If they are never to return, fans will still have these three great seasons, with the third getting the best reviews. Whatever happens, he’s tremendously proud and grateful for what they’ve made.
