Disney would now provide streaming service in Disney Plus for $7 per month. With the additional subscriptions of ESPN Plus and ad supportive version of Hulu, it would be a total of $13 per month, which is a clear discount of $5 from subscribing the three services separately. CEO Bob told that $5 is the discount one gets for a subscription of the three services.
The price is similar to Netflix’s subscription plans in the US. The bundle by Disney would be available on November 12 this year. Disney has promised many more services in the Disney Plus and said that it would have reboots of the famous Fox franchises like Home Alone and Night at the Museum. Disney bought Fox for $71.3 billion and said that it would like to reimagine the stories of the famous movies for kids of the new generation.
Disney is aiming to provide its productions in its own services and pour money into its private industry. Disney Plus once in the market would be an idol of tradition Hollywood digging into the roots of popular streaming channels such as Netflix, Amazon, and Apple too.
Right at this point of time, it is difficult to tell whether the Disney Plus services would be available outside the US and the bundle too. It has confirmed to stream Hulu but the only concern left is the licensing of the streaming channel in other countries.
Iger said that Disney would be bucking up for Disney Plus later on this month. Work on Disney Plus is the most critical project they have right now, and they would focus on making it the best. They want to beat down streaming channels like Netflix and Amazon. There would be a Disney’s biennial fan conference in Anaheim, D23 and those who attend this conference would be the first to sign up as subscribers.
