NCT’s Jaehyun to play a lead role in the remake of a 2001 classic movie
The popular K-pop idol and NCT group member Jaehyun has been reported to star in a new drama which will be the remake of the old film “Bungee Jumping of Their Own”. The singer’s agency has confirmed the news on Tuesday, November 2.
Jaehyun to star in a 2001 film drama reboot
Earlier this day, industry agents reported that Jaehyun will play a lead role in the upcoming drama remake of a 2001 classic “Bungee Jumping of Their Own.” Following the reports, the K-pop singer’s label, SM Entertainment, confirmed that Jaehyun will star in an OTT drama remake of the film “Bungee Jumping of Their Own.”
It is known that the producer of the original 2001 film, Choi Nak Kwon, will produce the reboot too. Kim Jong Hyuk known for directing the SBS drama “Spring Day” and “Quiz of God: Reboot,” will direct the new OTT drama. With 16 episodes of 25 minutes, the drama remake will air on Kakao TV. Further, the drama is slated to premiere in the second half of 2022.
Bungee Jumping of Their Own- Plot
The old classic “Bungee Jumping of Their Own” follows the story of a high school teacher Seo In Woo (Lee Byung Hun), who is unable to move on from the death of his lover, In Tae Hee (late Lee Eun Ju). Eventually, he meets a student named Im Hyun Bin, who behaves like his dead girlfriend, In Tae Hee.
Jaehyun will star in the role of Im Hyun Bin, originally played by Yeo Hyeon Soo in the 2001 film. As per a source, it was revealed that Jaehyun chose to star in the new drama remake as he trusts the original film and the new script. The filming of the drama remake will begin in January 2022, after filling out the main cast.
