A man allegedly broke into Taylor Swift’s Rhode Island mansion. The incident happened last Friday, i.e. on the 30th of August. The authorities took quick action as soon as they were reported of the incident. The man, who was found in the foyer area of the mansion, is recognized as Joseph McEwan.
Joseph McEwan was caught after being chased for a while in the whole mansion. Joseph is identified as a 26-year-old man who was hunting for Taylor by breaking into the beachfront property. He was detained after being chased for a while on foot. One interesting thing the accused did was to remove his footwear “to be polite” said the police.
Police chief Shawn Lacey while talking to a local daily, ‘The Westerly Sun’ said, “A pair of orange shoes were found at the doorway where he broke in. When officers asked him why he wasn’t wearing any, he told them ‘I was always taught that when you go into someone’s home, you have to take your shoes off’,”. Joseph said that it was done because it is polite to do so.
Lacey said that this was an unusual case as the accused was found inside the house. There are several complaints the police have dealt with since the time Taylor has purchased this home, but Joseph’s case was the first one he can recall who could make it into the house.
Joseph who had been searching and hunting for Taylor wasn’t at home at that time. The New Jersey man did not have any weapons when investigated. This is the third arrest since Taylor had bought the mansion in July.
The man is charged for breaking into a home without the owner’s consent. For now, the accused is out of jail on a bail. He will later be presented in the Washington County Superior Court for a felony screening.
