MAMA Awards – An evening to celebrate music
The Mnet Awards (MAMA) are here to sweep you off your feet!. The most awaited and most popular Korean music awards ceremony is here for 2021. The award ceremony is all set to be held on December, 11 of this year. The show will be held in South Korea for the second consecutive year following the 2020’s show in Paju after taking into consideration the present pandemic situation. The event will be taking place in CJ ENM’s Contents World, at the same place where the 2020 show was conducted.
Last year the show was held online keeping in mind the covid situation. This year the speculations regarding the hosting location were there to host the ceremony. Most times the show has been held in Hong Kong. Commenting on this CJ ENM’s director Kim Hyun Soo, said that, due to the pandemic situation the whole society is in a slump. He further said that it would be great to see the 2021 MAMA change the vitality by holding the show in K-pop’s origin country Korea. 2021 MAMA will mark the 23rd edition of the ceremony.

What to expect from the ceremony?
The location of the show, Contents World is 231000 sq meters with a size of 32 soccer fields. Although the location is yet to be opened for the public, the following precautions would be taken for everyone’s safety and health.
The host of the show is yet to be decided. The 2020 ceremony was hosted by Song Joong-ki. Last year the show’s biggest winner of the night was BTS, swiping the awards for Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and Worldwide Icon of the Year. This year’s nominations and performers are not announced yet, but soon they will be announced too.
