Every Disney fan of the ’90s would remember the infamous series of Lizzie McGuire starring Hilary Duff. To their delight, Hillary is returning in her character of Lizzie McGuire for one more time for a new series premiering on Disney+.
The American teen sitcom Lizzie McGuire featuring Hilary Duff revolved around a 13-year-old girl who desired to be accessible at her school. Her best friends Miranda (Lalaine) and Gordo (Adam Lamberg) helped her every bit to achieve the popularity she dreamt of. The episodes showed the dealings of her daily life at her school as well as her at her home where he had a younger brother named Matt (Jake Thomas) and parents, Jo and Sam (Todd and Robert Carradine). An animated Lizzie who was shown to be her alter-ego accompanied her and portrayed her feelings and problems of her life. The show was on air for two seasons spanning from 2001 to 2004. Terri Minsky created the show. In 2003 ‘The Lizzie McGuire Movie, a Disney Channel Original Movie was launched by the channel.
In the recent event of D23 expo (D23 is the official fan-club of The Walt Disney) on 23rd of August 2019, Duff, who now is 31, confirmed the return of Lizzie McGuire where the character will be portrayed as a grown-up individual living in New York City. Who else but Hilary Duff is being featured as Lizzie. Its original creator, Terri Minsky, is creating this sequel series. The new series will begin by showing Lizzie stepping into her 30th year. She is experiencing her dream job of working under a top designer. Adding to that, she is even dating the man her dreams. Of course, the animated Lizzie will accompany the grown-up Lizzie her too! However, it is not yet revealed though, that whether her best friends, Miranda and Gordo, or even her family, Matt, Jo and Sam will bee seen in the newly made series or not.
