Ridley Scott is on board as a producer
Kristen Stewart is all set to make her directorial debut with the memoir, The Chronology of Water. The Twilight star announced her decision to write and direct the memoir published by Lidia Yuknavitch in 2011. However, Stewart struggled in the coming years to secure a financier, but many didn’t sign up since she wanted to film with a small crew along the Oregon coast, as it’s where Yuknavitch grew up.
Update on Kristen Stewart’s Project
After a long time, Deadline finally gave an update on Kristen Stewart and her directorial debut. It came with the announcement that Stewart had found her Yuknavitch. Need for Speed star Imogen Poots has been cast in the role. Stewart will be co-writing the script with Andy Mingo. Ridley Scott will produce it under his Scott Free banner. In a statement, Kristen Stewart spoke about what the memoir means to her and why she felt like it needed to be adapted to screen, and also spoke about how excited she was to cast Poots.
She said that Lidia’s memoir honors corporeal experience in a radical way. It was a very vital experience for her, and it must absolutely be a film. She spoke about her gratitude to Scott Free for partnering with her and about Poots carrying the staggering weight of Lidia’s life.
Kristen Stewart Post-Twilight
Both Stewart and her co-star Robert Pattinson had to work hard to shake off the Twilight curse. While they did get fans, the movies failed. But both the actors began to work in low-tier movies, which were independent. Her movies like Clouds of Sils Maria and Personal Shopperexpanded her talent a great deal.
Stewart’s first tango with directing was the 2017 short film Come Swim, also produced by Scott Free.
