This Saturday in Utah will not be like any other Saturday. The city will witness something different. Kanye West will perform his “Sunday Service”, a weekly concert based on church theme on Saturday. The concert will take place at The Gateway Plaza at noon on Saturday. Sources say that the event is free and any person can visit this concert. But they won’t allow newspeople, cameras and media to attend the event.
The Mayor of Salt Lake City in Utah confirmed this news in a tweet. He said that Kanye West wishes to schedule his concert at The Gateway Plaza on Saturday at noon. There are multiple large events in the city that very same day. So he encouraged public transit and suggested that the people should avoid focal point areas. However, he also encouraged the public to have fun and be safe, regardless of what brought them to the city.

It seems there will be massive traffic issues in the city on Saturday. There is also a semi-annual General Conference scheduled to take place that day. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints organised this event. The sessions will happen at 10 a.m, 2 p.m and 6 p.m. Other than the conference, there is also a March to end child abuse that will take place on Saturday. We do not know yet if the clash of events is coincidental or not.
But because of two extremely huge events, the traffic will be on the heavier side. So the Mayor was right about his advice to the public to avoid some streets. Kanye West’s upcoming album “Jesus is King” will release in the coming months. His movie with the same title will hit the big screens on October 25.
Kanye started the tradition of “Sunday Service” in January 2019. Since then, he has organised a concert every week in a different location.
