Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber’s relationship has always been complicated. Despite the many romantic moments they’ve shared, their relationship finally came to an end after years of on and off dating. To date, fans still ship the two by the ship name ‘Jelena’.
Justin and Selena first met when they were children. Selena even said that she considered Justin only as her”little brother”. But soon, dating rumours started doing the rounds.
2011:
The two young lovers eventually confessed. They finally confirmed their rumored relationship on The Ellen Show. The two were always accompanied by each other at every award show and red carpet event. Justin also rented the Staples Centre in LA for a private screening date with his lady love.
2012:
The two youngsters parted ways owing to their ‘busy schedule.’
2013:
Justin posted a lot of pictures with Selena which made fans believe that he misses his lady love. Selena put rumours of their reunion to rest and confirmed to media sources that she was single.
2014:
Justin was arrested for drunk driving with another girl and in the meantime, Selena had been spending time at a rehabilitation facility.
After meeting each other in secret several times, Justin and Selena confirmed yet again, that they were back together.
However, the affair didn’t last long because Justin was later spotted with model Kendall Jenner.
The Canadian singer then tried to woo Selena back once again by posting romantic posts and serenading her on social media.
This paved the way for a series of on and off dating in the years to come.
Selena went on to release a few songs that expressed how she felt about her relationship with Justin.
Towards the end of 2014, Justin posted a picture with Hailey Baldwin on social media, calling her a ‘good friend.’
2015:
The couple’s new duet was leaked before the official launch date of both their albums. Justin confirmed that the album was inspired by Selena-revealing that three of the songs were about her.
2016:
Fans were disheartened when Justin posted a picture with Sofia Richie. Selena was heartbroken and she lashed out at Justin while defending her fans. She accused Justin of cheating.
2017:
The ex-lovers, were spotted by the paparazzi indulging in PDA by cuddling and going to church together. Selena was also invited to attend the wedding of Justin’s father, which was a very private affair.
2018:
Once, childhood sweethearts, they finally called it quits. They decide to part ways for good.
Barely a month after the split, Justin moved on from Selena and got engaged with the beautiful Hailey Baldwin. Jelena fans were shocked and disappointed that Jelena didn’t have a happil- ever-after love story. However, Justin and Hailey seem very happy in their marriage and fans have started to show love and support for the new couple.
